Abe Raifū (Abe Masachika) was born September 8, 1925 in Karafuto. He studied Kinko-ryū shakuhachi under Ishitaka Kinpū. He began teaching in 1966. He was head of the Raifū-kai and a member of the Seifū-kai and Kinpū-kai.
